How can users experience my new virtual tour?

There are 3 ways to share and display your tour:

  1. Google Search and Google Maps
  2. Embed the tour directly in your website
  3. Share the tour via link (url) in :
  • email
  • web pages
  • social media posts and profiles
  • SMS and instant messaging, etc.

1.

Google Search &  Google Maps

By default, your virtual tour is hosted on Google and accessible thru Search and Maps. On the Google Search page, simply click on either [MAPS] or the [GALLERY] section of your Google My Business listing on the right.

From Google Maps, click on the [STREET VIEW] button on the bottom right and select any of the [BLUE DOTS] at the location to begin the tour, or open the Gallery by clicking on the photo under the search bar.

From the Gallery, simply click on any photo with the panorama symbol to begin the virtual tour.

Embed the tour in your website

Fully functional and interactive virtual tours can be embedded in your website like the example below in Kelowna, helping to drive more traffic to your Google My Business listing and providing links to Google Maps for directions to your business.

To create the code necessary to place a virtual tour in your website, first select a starting position for the tour:


  1. Open your virtual tour in Google Maps in a browser. (Must be Maps and will not work in an app)
  2. Select any image from the tour as the start of your tour.
  3. Rotate the image to a starting position. This will be the initial view of your embedded tour window.


Click the [3 DOTS] in the top left and select [SHARE OR EMBED IMAGE].

Click the [EMBED A MAP] tab, select a [SIZE] for the tour window on the left and click [COPY HTML] on the right.

Add the code to your website.

Share the virtual tour via link (url)

Creating a custom link (url) for your virtual tour can allow you and your staff to share the tour in many different ways. It can even be added to the email signature of all outgoing correspondence, included in a text message, or placed in a website like the example below from Kelowna.

To create a link to your virtual tour, the steps are similar to embedding. First select a starting position for the tour:


  1. Open your virtual tour in Google Maps in a browser. (Must be Maps and will not work in an app)

Save the link and share it anywhere that supports links.
